The ponies won't pay the price for our fun.
We prioritise our horses and ponies feelings as well as our visitors. All the ponies we play with are part of our families and are much loved. We want you to have as much fun with them as we do so we don't use punishment or harsh training techniques to get the ponies to do what we want. This makes a more trusting relationship and is a heartfelt approach to animal training.
Meet the Ponies, Pups, Poultry & People
Starlite
Star is our miniature Falabella trick pony. She is only 4 years old and still has a lot to learn but is super clever and will do anything for a treat. You'll see her getting up to all her tricks and be able to play with her too.
Dave
Dave is a 18 year old Thoroughbred and is our gentle giant. He's been there and done it and loves a cuddle and fuss. You'll be able to groom, walk and play with him in the school, leading him and learning to handle over half a ton of sports horse.
Bailey
Bailey is our 4 year old Cavapoo. She can be suspicious of new people at first then when she warms up shows her loving and gentle nature. She loves to play and run and you'll get a chance to walk her and take her through an obstacle course if you want.
Blackberry
Blackberry is a 13 year old Cavapoo . He is as friendly as they come, begs for cuddles and loves to show off his tricks for snacks. A really reliable dog for anyone who's a bit nervous - he'll soon melt their heart.
Blondie
Blondie is our 2 year old Cavapoo. A little minx, she is friendly on her terms and very playful. You'll hear her voice from time to time and she loves a play and a romp around the school.
Eliza
Eliza can visit by request. She is a 4 year old Light Sussex x Brahma hen who lives with us at home and is extremely friendly and docile. She's mainly interested in what crumbs and seeds we have to give her and is a firm favourite with the kids.
Dee Fairclough
Dee runs our yard and does all the hard work that entails. She has over 30 years experience owning and managing horses and has a wealth of knowledge about them. She has been an equine assisted learning facilitator two years specialising in helping children with ASD and ADHD to feel more confident and calm. She has a great sense of humour and will put anyone at ease.
Tara Bentall
Tara has over 30 years experience with horses (BA Equine Studies),is a qualified Hypnotherapist, Equine Therapist & Alexander Technique Teacher. She loves combining these therapies with her horsemanship skills to help people overcome anxiety and pain and feel joy while learning with animals.
Beau
Beau is Dee's 17 yr old daughter. You might well see her around as she is a skilled rider and exercises and schools the horses at the yard.
Tia Lewis
Tia is Tara's 11 year old daughter. She is animal obsessed and has been lucky enough to have been playing with ponies and pups all her life. She is here to help too - this is her project as well as she is home educated and it is her dream to work with animals as she gets older.
